When the vehicle was initially scanned it was found that there were combustion misfires in cylinders 4, 5 and 6 and a fuel pressure fault.

Upon first inspection of the vehicle, the technician removed the intake hoses so to check the management of the turbo and also removed the spark plugs to test the engines compression. The oil lever sensor was also faulty and required replacement.

The customer had also supplied their own fuel injectors, so we had removed the old ones and installed the new ones as requested. Fuel injectors require proper functioning as it is the engine’s fuel delivery system. An injector is a valve with electronic controls that receives signals from the engine control unit.

Once all faults were cleared and new injectors installed, the car drove like a dream.

BMW M3 – Engine Light

The owner of a BMW M3 booked a visit to our workshop to check on an engine light issue.

To understand why faults occur on a vehicle, our experienced mechanics use a scanner to check for any stored faults. This allows the mechanics to understand the issues with the vehicle and take proper course of actions. With this particular M3, 3 faults were identified: catalytic converter 1, catalytic converter 2 and left brake light. The inspection also suggested the exhaust be examined.

Our mechanic found that to clear and repair the catalytic converter faults, the oxygen sensor would need to be spaced further out from the exhaust and the ECU would require reprogramming.

At pickup, the proud owner of this BMW M3 was pleased with the result and happy to have the car back in top condition.

BMW 335i Minor Service, Repairs and Tune

We worked on a BMW 335i in November this year; it needed a minor service and some additional repairs, as well as a tuning request by the customer.

The service was done according to the log book schedule and current km on the vehicle. With just short of 70,000km one of our experienced mechanics carried out a Service A + flush as well as a brake fluid flush.  Brake fluid is flushed and system is bled of air every 2 years to maintain consistent brake pedal feel as well as maintaining the car brake system servicing schedule.

When the vehicle was originally inspected, it was found that the roof operation and cables were not functioning optimally. The roof lining would sag into the car. Ramspeed replaced the roof cables which allowed the roof lining to tighten and in all allow better functioning of the roof top. During early inspection it was also found that the headlight washer cover needed replacing, which was also completed by Ramspeed.  The vehicle also needed a new BMC air filter, which was carried out successfully.

Separate to servicing requirements, the customer had requested an ECU tune on his 335i.  The customer was happy to know that the ECU tuning would optimize fuel burn efficiency, increase the engine torque and optimize air flow and air volume.

The service was carried out first according to the log book schedule and current km on the vehicle. This included replacing the engine oil along with various filters, spark plugs and other liquids and lubricants as needed.

As the service was carried out, the brake fluid was flushed from the car and replaced. Brake fluid is flushed and system is bled of air every 2 years to maintain consistent brake pedal feel as well as maintaining the car brake system servicing schedule.

A SMG diagnosis was run on the car. This means that a particular diagnosis is carried out to find problems with the cars transmission and clutch systems. The diagnosis was carried out accordingly with our technicians carrying out a clutch re-alignment procedure and bleeding the hydraulic oil system to rectify the client’s complaint.

After the vehicle service and transmission system repair was carried out, a test drive was completed to finalize the service.

BMW Z4 Service and Angel Eye Bulb Replacement

The below BMW Z4 was in our workshop to have a major service and have an angel eye light bulb replaced.

The service was done first according to the log book schedule and current km on the vehicle. This included replacing the oil along with filters and other liquids and lubricants as needed. As a special bonus to our customer we included an engine detox and intake cleaner for the vehicle to help and maintain healthy engine life for the long term.

Carried out in this service, the brake system fluid was flushed in each of the wheels. This is done as per manufacturer’s specifications, every two years.

Also carried out was an auto transmission service and check. This service is recommended as oil does break down over time, and with the demand of every day driving it is important to carry out this service. Once we replaced the necessary oils, the car drove effortlessly.

Whilst the BMW Z4 was in our workshop for its scheduled service and check, the customer had also requested that the bulbs of his angel lights needed to be replaced as the bulbs had blown. As per requested, we were able to order in the correct globes for this car and install them. The Angel Eye bulbs are light upgrades that have a distinct design that makes the lights illuminate in a circular design.
