This Mercedes Benz SLK350 was brought into our workshop for a service B and an advised list of items to check over whilst conducting the service.
The service was done first according to the log book schedule and current km on the vehicle. This included replacing the oil along with filters and other liquids and lubricants as needed. As a special bonus to our customer we included an engine detox and intake cleaner for the vehicle to help and maintain consistent engine performance and engine efficiency for long term use.
Through the duration of the service, our mechanics had to replace a number of items including the air filter, cabin filter, spark plugs and the transmission mount.
Transmission mounts do deteriorate over time; the mounts can break or collapse when the mileage on the vehicle rises. The transmission mount holds and supports the powertrain whilst isolating the vibrations that are produced by the powertrain from the chassis. An insufficient mount creates excessive driveline movement that may allow a belt-driven fan to hit the fan shroud, or the radiator hoses.
Once all works were complete, a final test drive was carried out to finalize the vehicle for customer pick up.
